Have you ever wondered how the criminal justice system works or how a case comes before a judge?
Then this is a great learning opportunity for you.
PCAO employs about 150 prosecutors, legal, and support staff. Our prosecutorial offices are broken down into multiple bureaus, which include Trial, Drug, Major Crimes, and Juvenile/ Appeals and Misdemeanors. Our prosecutors handle roughly 2500 felony cases per year.
PCAO Citizens Academy is designed to give you a behind the scenes look at a case, from a suspect’s initial arrest and booking into Pinal County Detention Center, to their sentencing or acquittal. You will be able to tour the county jail, go over details of an actual case and how it was charged, use a shooting simulator to better understand real life scenarios involving law enforcement and more.
Lunch will be provided.
