Have you ever wondered how the criminal justice system works or how a case comes before a judge?
Then this is a great learning opportunity for you.
PCAO employs about 150 prosecutors, legal, and support staff. Our prosecutorial offices are broken down into multiple bureaus, which include Trial, Drug, Major Crimes, and Juvenile/ Appeals and Misdemeanors. Our prosecutors handle roughly 2,500 felony cases per year.
PCAO Citizens Academy is designed to give you a behind the scenes look at a case, from a suspect’s initial arrest and booking into Pinal County Detention Center, to their sentencing or acquittal. You will be able to tour the county jail, go over details and review evidence of several cases prosecuted by PCAO and use a shooting simulator to better understand real-life scenarios facing law enforcement.
Lunch will be provided.
