Man Sentenced to 22 years in Child Sexual Exploitation Case

(FLORENCE, AZ) - Earlier this month, Dale Lenz, 29, of Apache Junction was sentenced to 22 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections in connection with a child sexual exploitation case.

On August 15th, Judge Steven Fuller sentenced Lenz to 22 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections, followed by two terms of lifetime probation.  Lenz also must register as a sex offender.

In July, Lenz entered into a plea agreement and pled guilty to one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, a class two felony; and two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor in the Second Degree, each a class three felony.

This case involved the Department of Homeland Security and the Apache Junction Police Department.  In May 2021, an online investigation into a chat platform located evidence of child sexual exploitation. According to court documents, Lenz was connected to an IP address in the case, and upon the execution of a search warrant at an Apache Junction residence, investigators forensically discovered child sexual exploitation videos and images on a mobile device.
